These have been effectively implemented by WACN to reach the rural women and empower them in all aspects.

  • Most cooperatives established saving accounts for children’s education, emergency situation (health care) and festivals. These are indications for social empowerment.

PRESENT STATUS

  • Full support in two VDCs and indirect support in six VDCs from Helvetas funding

  • Shareholders increased to 2,610 with 1,690 households directly benefiting from the cooperative activities

  • The size of the shareholders range from 20 to 640 per cooperative

  • The cooperatives have total savings of NRs 6,800,000

  • Saving & credit along with income generation activities are the core part of the cooperatives

  • Income generation through farming and non-farming activities, partly supported by SSMP and district line agencies
